We offer a complete precision chop pit silage service for Grass, Whole Crop, Lucerne and Maize.  We can mow and condition, rake, harvest and ensile your silage for you.

Our mower conditioners help wilt the crop faster, which will increase the DM content of the ensiled silage.

We aim to harvest the crop in the optimum timeframe, and we make sure that it is rolled and ensiled correctly to provide our customers with the best product possible from their crop.

About us

Mektrac Pty Ltd

Mektrac Pty Ltd was established in 2012 by myself Jason Mekken, and my wife, Katy. Our contracting business is based just outside of Orbost, and we service all of Gippsland.

As a trained Mechanic, I've been around machinery my whole life and worked with my father on contracting equipment growing up. We now have a fleet of new and late model equipment, including Claas Greenline Harvesters, John Deere tractors and Kuhn tillage gear (to name just a few).

We're a family-run business, and my wife Katy looks after the administrative/operating side of the company.

As my wife Katy grew up on a dairy farm in England we've been travelling back and forth to the U.K over the past 20 years, and I've been able to keep up to date with modern silage harvesting techniques and agriculture in general. We impart this knowledge to enable our clients to get the best out of their crops.
